Reviewer

Overview

Peer review represents a vital element of maintaining high standards in scholarly publishing. Manuscripts submitted for publication in Mesford are subjected to double-blind peer-review (identities of both reviewers and authors are not revealed to each other throughout the review).

Purpose

The peer review process is intended to be structured, transparent, and straightforward. Submitted manuscripts are reviewed by two or more experts of the relevant field. A review report provides the Editor-in-Chief/Senior Editor with an expert opinion on the quality of the manuscript under consideration. It also supplies authors with explicit feedback on how to improve their papers to make them acceptable for publication in the journal. Reviewers are asked to recommend whether a manuscript should be accepted, revised or rejected. They should discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article, ways to improve the strength and quality of the work and evaluate the relevance and originality of the manuscript.
